The British small series manufacturer Everrati Automotive has developed into one of the most unusual electric brands in recent years. The start-up implants electric motors in sought-after classics and prepares them for an electric future.
For purists, the thought of Everrati will make your stomach turn. Everrati not only restores and modifies coveted classics, but also replaces their existing combustion engine with a modern electric drive. In 2019, after long planning, the two crazy car fans Justin Lunny and Nick Williams realized their very own automotive dream and created a small but fine car brand of a completely different kind. It was clear to them that the future would belong to electric drives in cars and they wanted it that way they receive iconic classics especially from Europe for posterity with modern electric motors. The character of the classic car should not be changed by the electric motor in the front or rear and so the brand logo of the classic is retained. Instead of the combustion engine bubbling or babbling, there is now only a slight whirring noise when the engine is started. Switches and controls, on the other hand, remain original and so the Everrati version of the 911, SL or GT40 can only be recognized by the missing exhaust.

The Land Rover Series IIA has been extensively developed and tested by Everrati at the company’s development center in Upper Heyford over the past few months. Instead of the old combustion engine, it has an electric motor with 110 kW / 150 hp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm, which is supplied with energy by a battery pack in the underbody of the English off-road classic. In purely electric mode, around 200 kilometers can be covered before the next charging stop. On request even off-road.
If you want more power, you can opt for the Porsche 911 of the 964 series, for example, which Everrati offers as a coupé, convertible or targa. While the Pure variant delivers 440 hp, accelerates to 100 km/h in under 4.5 seconds and has a range of almost 300 kilometers, the Signature is even more dynamic with over 500 electric hp. Prices start at £200,000. The electric new edition of the legendary Mercedes Pagoda is not powered by the well-known four or six-cylinder engines with 2.3, 2.5 or 2.8 liters, but the ancillary units of the electric motor work under the star bonnet, which still drives the rear axle – with at least 132 kW / 180 hp and gigantic 550 Nm torque. The normal 280 SL had only 170 hp and did not manage the image spurt from 0 to 100 km/h in just over seven seconds. However, the price is impressive at 295,000 British pounds. The electric range: around 250 kilometers. Justin Lunny and Nick Williams have a number of other classics in mind to be electrified over the next few years.
