Honda milestone: produced 1.2 million motorcycles

“With a strong local presence for more than 43 years, Honda has invested more than 20 million dollars exclusively to increase the location and development of local suppliers. Likewise, in a sustained manner, it generates investments for the launch of new models and the adaptation and incorporation of production lines; projects that respond to the execution of a strategic, consistent and defined plan in terms of motorcycles”, said a statement from the Japanese brand.

In 2006 the company produced its first motorcycle, it was the Honda BIZ105 and since then it has already manufactured more than 30 models. Currently, it has nine national models that represent 97% of sales: GLH150, Wave 110S, Wave 110S Cast disc, XR150, CG150, CBF125, XR250, CB250 Twister, together with the latest addition, the XR190L, which began to be manufactured in Argentina with locally manufactured components.

“Reaching the production of 1,200,000 national units fills us with pride and marks the path to follow. As a company, we are grateful to those who choose us every day and place their trust in our brand. This milestone would not have been possible without the support of the enormous human group that makes Honda a great company”, said Takashi Fujisaki, president of Honda Motor de Argentina.

Likewise, since 2017, Honda began an ambitious project to export motorcycles, parts and pieces. Within this framework, the XR250 Tornado, Wave 110S CD and XR150L models reach destination markets such as Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ghana, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
