Banks began to sell the dollar at 150 rubles

In systemically important credit institutions, currency exchange spreads range from 10 to 70 rubles, Izvestia found out, after analyzing the data from the websites of 13 banks for the magnitude of the difference between buying and selling dollars and euros.

Thus, as of 21:00 on February 27, Raiffeisenbank, Promsvyazbank and Tinkoff had the largest dollar and euro spreads, in which it reached 60–70 rubles. In particular, in the latter, rubles are exchanged for dollars at 152.3, back – 85.7. For the euro, these figures are 163.8 and 92.15, respectively. At Raiffeisenbank, they offer to buy US currency at 150 rubles, and the EU – at 169. At the same time, they can be sold there at 89.99 and 101.31. In Promsvyazbank, American currency is bought from the population at 72.94 and sold at 132.94 rubles, and European at 83.38 and 143.38 rubles per unit, respectively.

At MKB, the difference between buying and selling dollars and euros was 40-50 rubles, VTB and Otkritie – 40-42 rubles, follows from the data presented on their websites. In Gazprombank, this indicator for both currencies is 37-40 rubles, Alfa-Bank – 32-34, Unicreditbank – 30-32 rubles, Sberbank – 15-16, RSHB – 15-15.5 and Rosbank – 10. On the Sovcombank website, Izvestia did not find information on the exchange rate. The support service of the organization said that now they do not carry out operations for their exchange.

Financial organizations use confusion among the population to maximize their profits, experts say. According to their estimates, on February 28, the ruble against the dollar will remain in the range of 84-86. Earlier, the regulator set the official exchange rate for the US dollar for February 26–28 at 83.54 rubles, and for the euro at 93.59.
