The president of the Berazategui Industrial Union (UIB), Alejandro Bartalinicategorically denied that the entity had denounced illegal maneuvers in foreign trade operations linked to the Import System of the Argentine Republic (SIRA), and assured that the link that the UIB maintains with the officials of the national Government is framed in the institutional relationship raised to solve the urgent problems that the factories could go through due to the need to make purchases of inputs and capital goods in other parts of the world in order to guarantee the operation of the companies in the southern district of the Buenos Aires suburbs.

“The Industrial Union of Berazategui, nor any member of the entity, has ever denounced in these four months the implementation of illegal payments to achieve the release of imports. Personally, as president of the UIB, I take care of managing, before the officials relevant to the application of the SIRA system, the needs of the companies in our district that need to solve urgent problems, so we never hire or use managers to mediate in those claims”, Bartalini clarified.

The president of the UIB also assured that “the dialogue with the authorities of the AFIP, Customs, the Secretary of Commerce and the Central Bank is constant, fluid and resolute, which makes the intervention of people who facilitate imports unnecessary.” ”. “What sense would it make to pay managers when the solutions are reached within the frameworks agreed with the Government?” Bartalini wondered rhetorically.

The entity, which is a grassroots representation of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), was involved in a journalistic complaint as an area where there is talk of “bribes” in exchange for approvals for imports.

“We deal with concrete facts. If there is a complaint, we are the first to raise it, in the corresponding areas. We are not talking about rumors, but we are based on experience, which indicates that the conflicts raised by the shortage of foreign currency were overcome in a framework of institutional negotiations, with 100% transparency and understanding the needs of each of the actors”, clarified the president of the UIB.
