In the recitals of the decree it was indicated that “due to its economic and social impact, the development and promotion of a national industry that produces portable computer equipment It is a priority in the policies developed by the National Government”.

“The growth of the industry in question, in addition to generating a positive impact on the specialized employment with high added value, reduces external dependence on highly sensitive and intensive use equipment for the entire productive framework and for society in general, reducing the technological gap”, it was added.

It was also warned that “the increase in production levels of such equipment will result in an increase in supply available from them in the domestic market at more competitive and accessible pricesallowing, in turn, to increase the levels of exports of locally manufactured goods, with high added value”.

“In that sense, it is advisable to strengthen the industrial sector in questiongenerating the incentives necessary for the filing and increase in the production volumes of such equipment”, he assured, to justify the modification of the tariff positions.
