The inflation expectation for March jumped 5 points against the February measurement

The inflation expectation stands at 75.4% in March5 points above the previous measurement, according to a survey carried out by the Di Tella University.

According to the March measurement, the inflation expected by the population for the next 12 months is 75.4% according to the average, with a median of 80%. Between the measurements of February (69.9%) and March (75.4%), there is an increase of 5.5%.

By regions, Federal capital and the Inside have the highest expectations 77.1% and 76.2% respectively, while in the Greater Buenos Aires the value was 72.9%.

By incomethey look themselves heterogeneous expectations for the different levels. The higher income households they have one average inflation expectation of 79.1%while the lower income households 71%.

The survey collects information at the individual level on the expectation that each one has of the general increase in prices in the next 12 months (expected annual inflation). The field work was carried out between March 8 and 14 of 2023.

According to him highest level of training achieved, inflation expectations also increased by around 5 points in both segments. In the education segments with a tertiary and university degree, the expectation for March was 79.1%, 5.9 points above the figure reported in February (73.2%). In the case of a secondary education level or less, the inflation expectation was 71%, 5.1 points more than in February (65.9%).

If it is broken down by region, it can be seen that average inflation expectations perceived by households with a higher educational level are 78.34% for Capital78.85% for GBA and 79.34% for the Insidewhile for individuals with a lower educational level the averages are 73.47%, 66.8% and 72.78% respectively.

The inflation data for March will be released on Friday, April 14. In February the monthly measurement showed 6.6%.
