Given the 3.22% increase reached by flour, Bakers assure that there will be an increase in the price of bread and baked goods. The decision was authorized by the Ministry of Commerce.

The bakeries concentrated in the Grouped Industrial Bakers Center (CIPAN) announced this Thursday that they must increase the price of bread and of the baked goodsin the order from 10 to 15%.

“The increase is due to the rise of 3.22% in the price of flourauthorized by the Commerce secretary, but mainly to the constant increases that we have been suffering in the rest of the subjects and supplies”, explained Martín Pinto, president of the Center for Bakers of Merlo.

For his part, the president of CIPAN, José Hernández, stated that “there are no reasons to disproportionate increases in the price of bread. We know of the difficult economic situation that crosses the population and for this reason, in the province of Buenos Aires, we are recommending that it be between 10 to 15% maximum, above the current price”.

It should be noted that CIPAN brings together around 40 districts in the province of Buenos Aires.

Increase in the price of flour

The Secretary of Commerce set new reference prices without taxes of the flour at the exit of the mill, through Resolution 269/2023 published today in el Official Gazettewithin the framework of Argentine Wheat Stabilizing Fund (FETA).

Thus, the values ​​that will apply from today for the 25-kilogram bags were established at $1,764 for flour 000 and $2,117 for type 0000; while for tapas flour and semolin it was set at $2,293.

In the case of the ton, it was established at $69,237 for 000 flour and at $83,092 for 0000; and for tapas and semolin $90,000.

The increases take into account as a reference the variations of the FAS price of wheat by 40%, that of wholesale inflation by 30% and that of wages by the other 30%.
