Customs seized irregular merchandise for a value of $190 million in different operations that were carried out in five provinces in the north of the country. The operation, known as Escudo Norte, was carried out in a coordinated manner at strategic points in Missions, Formosa, chaco, jump and Jujuy.

The controls focused on means of transport of passengers and parcel shipping companies, and merchandise of foreign origin that lacked the documentation that would guarantee its legitimate entry into customs territory was seized.

According to official information, they kidnapped 800 tires of foreign origin, valued at $59,500,000; 900 jacketsfor an estimated value of $5,400,000 and compressors, spare parts and accessories for air conditioning equipment whose estimated value amounts to $8 million. This merchandise was seized in Misiones, Formosa and Chaco, with a total value of $72,900,000.

In the provinces of Salta and Jujuy, at control points in Aguaray, oran and the quiaca548 packages with irregular merchandise that consisted of tires, clothing and Coca leaves in a natural state.

The estimated value of the merchandise seized in the northwest amounts to $116,400.00, with which the total number of irregular products discovered in the framework of the mega operation amounts to $189,300,000.
