The funding for private charging stations for e-cars has been used up. The KfW promotional bank says that no further applications should be made. The ball now rests with the new government.
The state subsidies for private charging stations for electric cars are exhausted – the ball is now with the new federal government. The state development bank KfW said on Thursday that no more applications should be made.
Current applications are not affected by the stop. The funding pool totaled 800 million euros, the program was topped up twice – for the last time in July by a further 300 million euros. Financing came from the energy and climate fund.
Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (CSU) had recently announced that the funding program had made a major contribution to electromobility in Germany. With around 800 million euros, more than 800,000 households were supported with a subsidy of 900 euros for the purchase and installation of the wall charging stations. This trend must be continued by the next federal government.
The SPD, Greens and FDP are currently in coalition negotiations. More electric cars are seen as a key to achieving climate goals in the transport sector. Greenhouse gas emissions from traffic have hardly fallen in recent years.
