Market sentiment is gradually improving with the preliminary agreement on the US debt dispute, wrote ActivTrades analyst Pierre Veyret. Until a final agreement is reached, however, market volatility will probably remain high. Congress still has to approve the recently reached compromise in the debt dispute, which is anything but certain.
Investors at Daimler Truck rewarded a possible alliance in Asia with a plus of 0.9 percent. The truck manufacturer wants to merge large parts of its Asian business with its competitor Toyota.
Aroundtown’s shares led the MDax with an increase of 4.7 percent. The commercial real estate specialist felt the effects of falling building values in the first quarter, but confirmed its annual targets.
The shares of the wafer manufacturer Siltronic increased by 3.9 percent. The investment house Jefferies had recommended it for purchase. The fundamentals are solid and there are first signs of an end to the cyclical downturn in the industry, argued expert Constantin Hesse.
The fuel cell supplier SFC Energy, together with an Indian partner company, received a major order from the Indian Ministry of Defence. The shares rose by 5.4 percent at the top of the SDax.
