The Taiwanese airline Eva Air gives Airbus a major order. The company is ordering 18 of the A350-1000 long-haul jet and 15 A321neo medium-haul jets, it announced on Tuesday. According to list prices, the order has a total value of 10.1 billion dollars (9.4 billion euros). Deep discounts are common for large aircraft orders.
The A350 jets are intended to replace Eva Air’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, of which the company has 34 in its fleet. Some copies are almost 20 years old. Conversely, the company is in the process of replacing older Airbus A330s with new Boeing 787s.
