Farmer protests: Protest participants hit by car: proceedings initiated

Farmers all over Germany are taking to the streets this Monday. According to the police, one person was seriously injured in a blockade in Lower Saxony

After a 35-year-old participant in the farmers’ protests in Lower Saxony was hit and apparently seriously injured, the police are now investigating the suspicion that the driver acted intentionally. This was said by a spokesman for the Oldenburg Police Department. Proceedings were initiated on suspicion of attempted homicide.

According to a police statement, the collision occurred around 10:40 a.m. in Friesoythe. Accordingly, the 45-year-old driver drove around a blockade and hit the man on the sidewalk. The driver left the scene of the accident and was temporarily arrested. A helicopter took the injured man to the hospital.
