The new resort is being built in the West Ukrainian Carpathians

The war in Ukraine is still running. But Ukrainian companies are already investing millions for the time after. A new holiday destination is to be built in the West Ukrainian Carpathians.

In the middle of the defense against the Russian invasion, the construction of a new holiday resort began in the West Ukrainian Carpathians on the border with the EU. “The construction of the first hotel complex is a strategically important stage in the implementation of the holistic concept for an international year-round resort,” said the head of the OKKO group, Wasssyl Danyak, according to a message.

Austrian experts support the project. 25 hotels with more than 5000 rooms are to be built over the next 15 years. With ski lifts and slopes, the project should include 127 hectares.

In an earlier message, the company stated the total costs of the project with the equivalent of more than 1.45 billion euros. A third of this brings the company to own funds and loans, the rest is to be recruited by investors. The new recreational complex is being built at the village of Wolosjanka in the Lwiw area, almost 50 kilometers from the Polish border. The mountains in this area only reach a height of a little more than 1200 meters.

Ukraine has defended itself against a Russian invasion with massive western help for almost three years. So far there have been hardly any Russian rocket and drone attacks in the Carpathian region.
