Wine as an export factor and economic growth

Wine as an export factor and economic growth

In reference to the increase in the export of bottled wines, in turn, the wine industry aims to position itself in international markets and show the world that Argentina is not just Malbec, that there is a wide variety of strains, and styles of wines that can reach to different consumers in the world.

This growth is mainly due to a strategy of insertion in international markets, focused on obtaining better results. We were able to seize a great opportunity, thanks to the excellent quality of our wines, the contribution of winemakers and agronomists who work on innovative proposals that surprise global consumers and the constant support from marketing and communication, as had never been done in previous years.

On the other hand, one of the main objectives of the wineries in the future is to achieve entry and permanence in Asian countries. China has positioned itself as one of our main trading partners in recent years and represents 3% of Argentine wine sales, with enormous potential for growth.

Argentine wines currently pay a 14% tariff, which adds to the high logistics cost due to distance. But, fortunately, today an agreement is being worked on that will allow the origin of Argentine Malbec to be certified so that the wines enter with a zero tariff, which means a great benefit for wine marketing.
