Steven Tyler has entered treatment after an addiction relapse. His band Aerosmith has therefore canceled concerts.
Steven Tyler (74), lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith, has gone into treatment after a drug relapse. This was announced by his band members on Tuesday (May 24th). “As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked for many years on his abstinence. After undergoing foot surgery in preparation for the stage and requiring pain management during the process, he recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to to focus on his health and recovery,” the band reads.
The musicians would therefore have to inform fans “that we have to cancel our first dates in Las Vegas in June and July while he concentrates on his well-being.” The band will continue with 2022 dates from September and will keep fans informed of further updates as soon as possible. “We are devastated that we are causing inconvenience to so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel from great distances to experience our shows.”
The band should be back in Las Vegas, City of Lights, starting this June and continuing through December 2022. There, their “Deuces Are Wild” show is scheduled to return to the MGM Park Theater, where the US band already played almost 50 gigs together in 2019 and 2020. The musicians had announced the performances in three blocks: the first shows should be from June 17th to July 8th, the second momentum is scheduled for September 14th to October 5th and the eight final concerts are to take place from November 19th to 11th take place in December.
