Emma Willis turned to her social networks to make a special request in relation to her husband.
The wife of Bruce Willis, Emma Willistook to social media to ask the paparazzi to calm down when they see the actor in public.
Willis, who had been diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022 and had retired from acting, sadly his condition progressed to dementia in February of this year. Now his wife hopes to raise awareness by targeting photographers and videographers.
Emma Willis said via a video shared to Instagram on Saturday: “So this one goes out to the photographers and video people who are trying to get those scoops out of my husband – just hold your space. I know this is your job, but maybe just keep your space.”
She added, “To the people in the video, please don’t yell at my husband asking how he is or whatever, the ‘woohoo’-ing and the ‘yippee ki yays’… just don’t do it. OK? Give her space. Allow our family or whoever is with him that day to get him from point A to point B safely”.
Emma also asked in her caption: “To other caregivers or dementia care specialists navigating this world… Any tips or advice on how to safely get your loved ones out into the world?”
In February, Willis’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, broke the news that his diagnosis of aphasia had progressed to frontotemporal dementia. “Since we announced Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, the challenges with communication are just a symptom of the illness Bruce is facing. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis,” he wrote.
