A petition was launched to reverse the decision that prohibits Roger Waters perform in Frankfurt, Germany. The former member of Pink Floyd was scheduled to perform in the city on May 28 as part of his tour This Is Not A Drill; however, Frankfurt City Council officials canceled the show following allegations of anti-Semitism.

Now famous faces like Eric Clapton, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Nick Mason of Pink Floyd they rallied behind Waters and backed a Change.org petition seeking to overturn the decision.

“Waters’ criticism of Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians is part of his long-term advocacy on behalf of human rights around the world.”, it reads in the description next to the request. “Officials who vilify Waters are engaging in a dangerous campaign that deliberately combines criticism of Israel’s illegal and unfair policies with anti-Semitism.”

It continues: “Officials in Germany, concert organizers and music platforms must not succumb to pressure from those individuals and groups who would rather have Waters’ music removed than become involved with the issues his music highlights.”

The decision to cancel the upcoming concert came last month, with the city council citing Waters’ “persistent anti-Israel behaviour” as its reasoning. A similar motion was also filed against his show in Munich, set for May 21.
