Jeremy Renner: These stars visited him after his accident

Jeremy Renner has also enjoyed the company of many castmates during his recovery, as he recounts in his first TV interview.

After his devastating snowplough accident earlier this year, Jeremy Renner (52) has now had his first major TV interview and talked about the incident and the difficult recovery period that followed. In the emotional conversation with Diane Sawyer (77), the Marvel star also told which film colleagues and celebrities visited him at the bedside.

For example, Anthony Mackie (44), Renner’s co-star from the film “The Hurt Locker” (2008), was at his home in Reno, Nevada, when Renner was recovering from his injuries: “He was by my bed.”

Renner’s fellow actress Evangeline Lilly (43) also visited the 52-year-old after the accident in Reno. She already told in February what progress Renner had made in a short time and that she was overwhelmed by it: “I went into his house and had goosebumps”, Renner got more news from the Marvel Universe from Paul Rudd (54), Chris Evans (41) and Chris Pratt (43) received.

His neighbor believed Renner was dead

During the interview, Renner’s neighbors from Reno also had their say. A 77-year-old man spoke in detail about the horrifying moments during the accident, which left Renner with over 30 broken bones and blunt chest trauma. He and his wife were the only neighbors home that day and found Renner in excruciating pain, the neighbor said.

“He had blood on his ears, probably on his nose as well. It looked like something had been pushed out of his eye.” The “amount of blood” shocked him. “He was just in so much pain. And the sounds coming out of him – there was so much blood in the snow.” For his neighbors it sounded like someone was “dying”. He just felt “helpless” because he could only watch. “I really felt like he died for a few seconds.”

What’s next for him at Marvel?

After Renner’s near-death experience and traumatic injuries, it’s not surprising that the actor would like to have his stunts in the MCU done by a professional in the future. “Right now I’m okay with a stunt guy doing that,” Renner continued in the interview. “I’m 52. It’s okay. I’ve done enough. […] I’ll be in my trailer.”

The actor is currently only dependent on a walking stick, but still feels the pain after all the extensive operations. His broken bones were treated with multiple screws, metal plates and even rubber bands.

Nevertheless, Renner is said to be returning to the red carpet soon. the actor is expected on April 11 at an event in Los Angeles. The reason for the event is Renner’s new documentary series “Rennervations”, which will appear in four episodes on the Disney+ streaming service on April 12.
