Actress Jella Haase describes herself in an interview as “bustling, bubbly, exuberant”. A punk musician is her “idol”.
Jella Haase (29), who became a star in the “Fack ju Göthe” series as the brightly made-up riot brat Chantal, is obviously in the blood, as the title interview with the magazine “DB MOBIL” (November issue) shows. “I’m bustling, bubbly, exuberant. As a child, I had my five minutes every day. I’ve always been there. You can call that exhausting,” says the native of Berlin. Already as a child she was looking for the camera and forced her parents to film it: “There was an instinct to play in me that I couldn’t defend myself against. Something inside of me wanted to get out.”
A punk musician as a personal idol
Jella Haase was certainly able to let out a lot at the punk concerts to which her parents regularly took her as a child. “For example, to the gigs of Atti and her band Payback 5. I toured Colombia with Atti in 2018 on a tour of their former band Bluttat,” says the actress.
“To this day, Atti is my big sister, second mother and idol rolled into one. She is the freest person I know. She always did what she wanted, has never been dictated to – that has shaped me. She has taught me that you don’t have to stick to norms. “
“I should be more serious”
And yet the norms thing sometimes gives you a headache, as she admits. “Some days I am fragile and insecure. I often think I have to be more serious. Adult. More elegant. More mysterious, aloof, sadder. But I also know that I am not,” says Haase. Instead, the multiple award-winning artist enjoys the nightlife to the full: “I just love going out with friends, talking, partying and getting lost in the night.”
On the other hand, she doesn’t love housework at all. “In principle, I don’t see household chores at all. Unnecessary. Complete. It’s like this: I don’t have a particularly long attention span. And when I eat, for example, this action is completed the moment I’ve finished. Tidying up dishes is no longer an option about it “, says Jella Haase and confirms the assumption:” That creates chaos. ” And how do family and friends react to this? You know them now, she says. “They know that sometimes you have to help me.”
