“Infinity Repeating” is the lead single from the 10th anniversary edition of Random Access Memories.
daft punk shared an unreleased song with Julian casablancastitled “Infinity Repeating”. The song was released as part of the new anniversary edition of the band’s fourth and final album, “Random Access Memories”which went on sale a decade ago.
Released today, the new version of the album celebrates the 10-year milestone by featuring over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, including demos and outtakes from the recording sessions.
One of which is the never heard before track “Infinity Repeating”who recruits the leader of The Strokes, Julian casablancas.
The song was recorded by the electronic duo and Casablancas in 2013, and also features other members of the latter’s other rock band, The Voidz. It was the second time that Casablancas partnered with daft punk on the album, having also appeared on the fan favorite “Instant Crush”.
“Infinity Repeating” was first shown to fans earlier this week (May 9), and the previously unreleased song had its world premiere at the Pompidou Center in Paris yesterday (May 11).
On their website, the museum’s promoters boasted that the event would give guests the chance to hear the new track in an “ultra-high fidelity” and “cinematic” format, using a sound system that featured more than 30 speakers.
In addition to featuring the original track list, which includes hits like Get Luckythe new 10th anniversary edition also includes studio outtakes from the album’s opening “Give Live Back To Music”vocoder tests of “Lose Yourself To Dance” and the song “Horizon”which previously only appeared on the Japanese version of the CD.
