Ten years ago, Paul Walker died in a car accident near Los Angeles. The actor was last seen alongside Vin Diesel in the seventh installment of the action series Fast & Furious. Eight years later, daughter Meadow Walker is following in the actor’s footsteps. In the tenth part “Fast X” you will see the 24-year-old in a guest role.
On Instagram, Walker shared a picture of a monitor showing her during her cameo. She posts: “A glimpse of my cameo in Fast X.” When she was just one year old, the first part of the series hit the cinemas, she writes.
Meadow Walker grew up on the set
She grew up on the set, watched her father and his colleagues like Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez or Jordana Brewster at work on the screens and now can hardly believe that she is there herself. Walker has an intense relationship with Vin Diesel in particular. The 55-year-old is her godfather and led her to the altar at her wedding to Louis Thornton-Allan. On Instagram, the 24-year-old has often referred to her father’s colleague and his children as “family”.
Walker also thanks director Louis Leterrier, who directed the series for the first time. She writes, “Thank you Louis Leterrier for your kindness, patience and support. It feels like you’ve been part of the family from the start.” Leterrier will also direct Fast & Furious 11, the final installment in the series. After Rob Cohen, John Singleton, Justin Lin, James Wan and F. Gary Gray, the Frenchman joins the successful line of “Fast & Furious” filmmakers. The 49-year-old became known for his work on “The Transporter” and “The Transporter 2”. He also directed three episodes for the hit Netflix series “Lupin”.
Fourth place in the most expensive films
Walker’s final thanks go to Brandon Birtell. The producer was her father’s best friend, now he is her best friend and made her appearance in the successful series possible in the first place. She ends her post by saying, “I am so blessed to honor my father’s legacy and share it with him forever.”
The “Fast & Furious” series is one of the most successful action film series ever. The last part “Fast & Furious 9” grossed 726 million US dollars worldwide despite the pandemic, no other Hollywood film reached comparable sums in 2020 and 2021. “Fast X” should surpass that.
According to The Wrap, part ten is 70 percent more expensive than part nine, with a budget of $340 million. He has to bring in at least 500 to 550 million US dollars to even make a dollar profit. “Fast X” ranks fourth among the most expensive films of all time.
Finale brings back all the stars of the hit series
In the two-part finale, all the stars of the previous parts should come together again and experience a shared adventure. Even Dwayne Johnson, who celebrated success with “Fast and Furious 5”, is said to be returning. The 51-year-old recently announced that he never wanted to be part of the series again. But he seems to have put his differences with Vin Diesel aside for the sake of the viewers.
