This woman immediately convinced three jurors, enchanted millions of viewers and also set a record: British model Anna Ermakova won the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance” with another brilliant performance.
The daughter of tennis star Boris Becker and model Angela Ermakova (both 55) and her dance partner Valentin Lusin (36) received the most audience votes in the final. She accepted the trophy, squealing happily. At the same time, the 23-year-old broke a record for the jury grades: in the final, shortly before the end, she surpassed the series of ten best ratings that Ella Endlich had achieved here years ago.
That was her biggest challenge
“I came to Germany from England to dance. I never thought that I would be welcomed here with such open arms,” said the model, visibly touched, in a mix of German and English. The biggest challenge for her was to “open emotionally” on the dance floor.
Anna Ermakova lives in London and has so far avoided German show business – as the daughter of the tennis star, she has been unintentionally in the public eye since early childhood. The young Brit learned German for “Let’s Dance”.
The judges are delighted
During the last live broadcast, Ermakova floated across the dance floor in a freestyle performance as Alice in Wonderland. She and Lusin offered the audience a mix of Lindy Hop, Tango, Foxtrot and Contemporary. Previously, the duo had performed a passionate tango and a slow waltz to perfection.
Again and again the three judges’ trowels shot up with 10 points each. Joachim Llambi, who is otherwise known for his ruthless criticism, eventually had trouble finding new compliments. He is proud that this talent has come to his German show.
Ermakova relegated actress Julia Beautx (24) with dance partner Zsolt Sándor Cseke (35) to second place and ex-gymnast Philipp Boy (35) with professional dancer Patricija Ionel (28) to third place. For the first time since 2018, two women were in the show finale.
Boris Becker: “Couldn’t be prouder”
Mother Angela Ermakova cheered for her daughter in the auditorium. “I wish her the best of the best of the best, and from the bottom of my heart,” she said before making the decision.
Father Boris Becker had previously spoken via Instagram: “You have already taken the hearts of the Germans – by storm. Your talent, your discipline, your performance and – even more – your personality are outstanding. And I couldn’t be prouder be.” He is looking forward to seeing her “soon again away from the spotlight,” said the world tennis star about his daughter.
In the fight for the cup, the three finalists had already left many other celebrities behind: Among other things, this season there were top chef Ali Güngörmüs (46), model Alex Mariah Peter (25) and Twitch star Jens “Knossi” Knossalla (36) been there.
Günther Jauch skipped dance school
Shortly before the result was announced at half past midnight, moderators Daniel Hartwich and Victoria Swarovski brought Günther Jauch to their home. “Since I’m a total fan of live broadcasts, I would like to see them live at some point,” said the presenter and quizmaster, who attended the show as a viewer.
As a dancer and candidate for the celebrity show, he was out of the question, emphasized Jauch (66): “I was supposed to go to a dance school when I was 15 or 16 and I got the money for it from my parents, but at the same time I had a moped that broke all the time pretended to go to dance school but put all the money into the moped.” So nothing will happen to him.
