Jennifer Lawrence: She combines flip-flops with an evening dress

Jennifer Lawrence walked the Cannes red carpet in a dreamy gown. The big eye-catcher, however, were the flip-flops underneath.

Actress Jennifer Lawrence (32) appeared in black flip-flops on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in southern France. The comfy footwear was tucked under a bright red A-line dress at the premiere of new movie Anatomy of a Fall.

The Oscar winner was able to avoid stumbles like they had already happened to her in some public appearances.

Hollywood’s Queen of Stumbles

Jennifer Lawrence first stumbled in front of everyone’s eyes at the 2013 Oscars when she was honored with a golden boy for her role in “Silver Linings”.

The following year, she twisted her ankle while walking the red carpet and fell to the ground. Two years later, she tripped and lost a shoe while leaving a dinner celebrating her film Silver Linings Playbook in London.

With own documentary in Cannes

Her red dress and flip flops were her second look of the day after attending a photocall for her new documentary Bread and Roses.

Jennifer Lawrence, who wore a knitted cream dress for the date, produced the film. It tells the story of the everyday life of three women in Afghanistan under Taliban rule, who struggle to regain their identity and autonomy. “There’s no end to this story and you feel pretty helpless thinking about how to do something about it,” she said, according to media reports. “It’s hard to market that.”

The arrival of the militant political movement in Kabul in 2021 had a disastrous impact on women’s rights in the country. They were deprived of any right to education, and there were restrictions on employment and access to public spaces.

Director Sahra Mani fled Afghanistan when the Taliban took power in the summer of 2021 and now lives in Europe.
