Gerald and Anna Heiser: Their farm in Namibia was set on fire

The “Bauer sucht Frau” couple Gerald and Anna Heiser (32) got away with the shock again: their farm in Namibia burned down on Thursday evening (May 25). As the mother of two told the next morning, it was arson. The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured. Nevertheless, the emigrant is very worried.

She was home alone with her two children

In a story, the native Pole reported on the events. “Yesterday a man infected three neighboring farms, including ours. Gerald called me over the radio to lock the whole house because I was there alone with the children.” Such situations happened extremely rarely in the country. “But because the police are unfortunately useless here, I’m at the mercy of being so far away from the city as a woman with small children.” So now she’s trying to figure out how to defend herself. “I think I have to learn to shoot after all. Of course I hope I never get into a situation where I have to use a gun.”

Arsonist is hiding

The fire could be extinguished “relatively quickly”, but the arsonist is still at large and can hide anywhere. “Of course we don’t know where he is. The police won’t do anything because their excuse is that they supposedly don’t have a car.” They could therefore only hope that the man would come to his senses or be found by farm workers. Anna Heiser later reported that a neighbor had found the hiding place where the perpetrator had stayed. Now his footsteps would be followed.

The family was recently in a car accident

“Somehow we haven’t been spared anything lately,” says the 32-year-old. In early May, an antelope crashed into the family’s car. “We had many guardian angels,” emphasized Anna Heiser. She met the farmer Gerald, who lives in Namibia, in 2017 through the RTL program “Bauer sucht Frau”. In 2018 the couple married. Their son Leon was born at the end of January 2021, daughter Alina at the end of November 2022.
