Dolly Parton: Country singer breaks more world records

Dolly Parton has won an incredible number of awards in her career. Now she added three new world records to the list.

On her debut album “Hello I’m Dolly” in 1967, the legendary country singer Dolly Parton (77) first had to introduce herself to her audience by name. Every kid now knows her name – even if they’re not into country music. With her 65 studio albums, which have sold over 100 million copies to date, she has won ten Grammys and secured a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

Ten world records in 56 career years

Incidentally, the singer cracked one world record after the next. It has now been announced that she added three more world records to her previous seven – including most number one hits by a female artist on US Hot Country Songs.

New records include the record for most studio albums released by a female country singer (65 albums), the most top 10 entries on the top country albums chart for a female artist (48 entries), and for longest streak of #1 hits on the Top Country Albums chart as a female artist (43 years, 156 days).

Dolly Parton: “I’m humbled every time”

When presenting the additional certificates, the record singer was routinely enthusiastic and grateful. “I am filled with humility every time I receive a new Guinness World Records title,” she commented on the honors. And she added: “I share these three new awards with my fans that have allowed me to enjoy such a long career.”
