Ex-model allegations: Another lawsuit against Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby could soon face court again. A former “Playboy” model raises serious allegations.

A former “Playboy” model has filed a lawsuit against Bill Cosby (85). According to the report, Victoria Valentino (80) claims to have been drugged and abused by the entertainer more than five decades ago. A spokesman for Cosby denied the allegations. A new California law allows for the suit, temporarily removing the statute of limitations for civil sexual assault cases.

The lawsuit, now filed by Victoria Valentino’s attorneys in Los Angeles County Superior Court, is the first known use of the law in California against Cosby, according to the newspaper. Under the law, plaintiffs who claim they were sexually abused as an adult are given a one-year window to seek damages, regardless of how long ago the alleged crimes occurred.

Assault is said to have taken place in 1969

“It’s not about money, it’s about responsibility,” Valentino told the Washington Post about the lawsuit. “Rape steals something that cannot be repaired or restored.” Valentino claims she met Cosby in 1969 while working as an actress and singer. They later met by chance at a restaurant in Los Angeles. He gave her a pill that night that left her “incapacitated” and abused her, according to her allegations. Valentino explained that Cosby abused her “when she was at rock bottom”. Valentino’s six-year-old son had died shortly before.

said Andrew Wyatt, a spokesman for Cosby, that “Victoria Valentino needs to be carefully and carefully scrutinized – because she has changed her alleged reports of sexual abuse by Mr. Cosby more than 10 to 15 times”.

Allegations by numerous women

More than 60 women had leveled various allegations against the comedian and actor, who rose to fame as a father figure of sorts for playing Cliff Huxtable on the sitcom The Cosby Show. Many of the allegations were time-barred, and Cosby had also rejected them. In 2018 he was convicted of sexual assault – to three to ten years in prison. He served more than two years of imprisonment. Then the verdict was overturned due to a procedural error, and he was released in June 2021.
