Lena Meyer-Landrut makes fun of stars who actually aren’t stars

Thanks to social media and reality TV formats, it seems easier to make a name for yourself these days. This is a problem for Lena Meyer-Landrut, as she explains.

Lena Meyer-Landrut became a superstar after her appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and her victory there. Their songs were played on the radio, bought and sung along to. The 32-year-old still makes music today and enjoys success with it.

Lena Meyer-Landrut teases supposed stars

Meyer-Landrut finds it strange that it is supposedly easier for some others to achieve star status, as she tells the German Press Agency. “I’m just a little overwhelmed by how many people are stars and how easy it is to become a star in certain areas of the public. I feel like that devalues art,” she said.

Thanks to social media and various reality TV formats, countless people have made a name for themselves in recent years. “That also includes people who have no content,” complains Meyer-Landrut, who is skeptical about the development. Therefore, people constantly consumed contentless things. “That definitely makes me think,” said the musician.

She doesn’t name any names

She did not explain who Meyer-Landrut was specifically targeting. Influencers in particular find themselves criticized more often, as do all those who regularly take part in reality TV shows.

Meyer-Landrut itself can counteract the trend. Next year she will tour at least six cities with her “Lena Live 2024” tour. The first concert of the tour will take place on June 1st in Leipzig. But that’s not enough. Lena fans can also look forward to a new album at the beginning of the year.
