In Argentina, the infused vodka segment has experienced exponential growth: it increased 52% between 2021 and 2022. Today, more than 80% of the category’s total sales in Argentina, which reaches 20 million liters, correspond to flavored or infused vodkas.according to a survey of ISWR (International Wine and Spirits Research). Vodka is the 4th most consumed category in Argentina (after wine, beer and snacks, in that order), as confirmed by the study carried out in 2022.
In this context, SKYY Vodka, the fastest growing vodka brand in the Argentine market (more than 100% between 2021 and 2022, according to IWSR), presents its new SKYY INFUSIONS flavor: Blood Orange. The consumer is looking for new exotic fruits to explore, and this demand includes oranges and other sophisticated fruits and authentic, natural and organic varietals from regions around the world. Varietal profiles such as clementine, Meyer lemon and Bing cherry, along with more exotic fruits such as lychee and yuzu, are providing consumers with greater quality and authenticity.
Known for its crimson red flesh, the blood orange was born as one of Sicily’s most prized crops and is now cultivated all over the world. Once reserved only for royalty, the blood orange has made its way into a number of new product categories, with beverages leading the way in terms of new launches. Blood orange flavored products grew 16% globally between 2017 and 2018, with most of the growth starting in Asia Pacific and then spreading to the rest of the world.
Its flavor combines sweet and bittersweet notes, evoking the essence of red fruits and achieving a variety of intense and at the same time very refreshing flavor.
