For almost three years, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet could not see each other due to the corona. So tears flowed when they saw each other.
Leonardo DiCaprio (47, “Don’t Look Up”) and Kate Winslet (46, “Mare of Easttown”) have been close friends since their mega success with the love drama “Titanic” (1997). Winslet now reports of a tearful reunion with her buddy Leo – after almost three years.
They “missed each other because of Covid”
The corona pandemic prevented a meeting between the American and the British for a long period of time. “It’s not that I was in New York or he was in London and there was a chance to have dinner together or have a coffee and catch up. We couldn’t leave our countries,” explains the 46-year-old. Like many friends all over the world, she and her two-time screen partner “missed each other because of Covid”.
At the happy reunion of the two Oscar winners, Winslet finally broke all dams. “I couldn’t stop crying,” she remembers the moment in Los Angeles. “I’ve known him for half my life!” DiCaprio is a “very close friend” and her ties last a lifetime.
The Hollywood stars of almost the same age stood together again in front of the camera after their international breakthrough with “Titanic” in 2008. In the drama “Zeiten des Aufruhrs” by director Sam Mendes (56) they played the frustrated Wheeler couple, who lived in a suburb and whose lives took a different course than originally planned.
