A van collides with a tractor-trailer on the A81 near Ludwigsburg. Actor and musician Michael Gaedt is behind the wheel of the van. He escapes with bruises.
The actor Michael Gaedt, known from the ZDF evening series “SOKO Stuttgart”, was injured in a motorway accident. According to the police, the 67-year-old wanted to overtake a semi-trailer truck on the A81 near Ludwigsburg on Wednesday afternoon. Presumably because of an approaching car, Gaedt pulled his van back into the right lane.
At that moment, according to the information, the 23-year-old driver of the semi-trailer braked and the transporter crashed into the semi-trailer. Gaedt was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The police did not provide any information about possible injuries. A “Bild” report speaks of severe bruises.
Driver’s cab completely destroyed
The actor and musician also told the “Bild” newspaper: “When I got out of the van on the motorway, everyone looked to see if I had the angel wings on the back. It was like a rebirth.” He continued: “It is unbelievable that the accident went off so lightly and that no one was injured other than me.”
The collision caused material damage of around 70,000 euros and traffic in the direction of Heilbronn was temporarily backed up for 15 kilometers. The van was towed away. In the accident photos, the driver’s cabin is almost completely destroyed. Another car was also damaged by flying vehicle parts. The “Stuttgarter Nachrichten” and other media also reported.
Michael Gaedt has been playing the role of car dealer and car mechanic Karl-Heinz “Schrotti” Schrothmann in “SOKO Stuttgart” since 2009. TV audiences also know him from appearances in the TV series “Die Fallers” and in the “Tatort” crime thriller. Until 2016, Gaedt was also on stage as a member of the Swabian cabaret group “Die kleine Tierschau”.
