Singer Ashanti: Her baby is “a blessing”
The singer Ashanti and rapper Nelly became parents to a son in mid-July. Now the musician reveals that the baby has the temperament of his famous father.
Singer Ashanti raves about her new everyday life as the mother of a son. “He’s a blessing, he’s an angel,” the 44-year-old told People magazine. Her life is wonderful and she feels happy. “I’m madly in love with him.” The singer (“Happy”, “Foolish”) and rapper Nelly became parents to their son Kareem Kenkaide Hayes in mid-July.
According to Ashanti, the four-month-old boy is already showing his father’s temper: “If the bottle isn’t ready – oh, man.” Little Kareem Kenkaide Hayes is Ashanti’s first child. Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, is also the father of two adult children. He also adopted two children from his sister, who died of leukemia in 2005.
Ashanti and Nelly had been together for a long time since 2003, but then separated again. They found each other again last year.
