Trouble at the Norwegian royal family: Marius Borg Høiby, Crown Prince Haakon’s stepson, was arrested again. Not the first challenge for the Royals.
It is the third arrest in four months: Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, is again in police custody. The allegations against the 27-year-old are becoming more and more detailed and serious. Already accused of assaulting ex-girlfriends, criminal damage and other crimes, he is now suspected of violating a section of the criminal law “that concerns sex with a person who is unconscious or otherwise incapable of sexual intercourse defend ourselves,” said the Norwegian police. He denies the new allegations, as his lawyer Øyvind Bratlien told several Norwegian media. The scandal surrounding Borg Høiby has been bothering the royal family for several months and is casting a shadow over the patchwork family that has previously appeared harmonious to the outside world.
