Billie Eilish: Social media is my cigarettes
Pop star Billie Eilish is trying to break away from Instagram and Tiktok. In the interview, she describes why she keeps getting sucked into social media.
Pop star Billie Eilish says she repeatedly tries in vain to get away from social media. “They’re my cigarettes,” the 22-year-old told the pop culture magazine “Complex.” “This is really a problem.” She is no longer on Platform X and a few months ago she temporarily gave up Instagram and Tiktok, “which was great,” said Eilish.
“But then I went on tour – and the thing is, I really love interacting with fans when I’m on tour,” the “What Was I Made For” singer said. She enjoys watching her fans’ videos with different perspectives from her concerts. “I love seeing how people feel and how they think about the show.” She then goes online for a certain type of video, “but then I get sucked into it,” says Eilish. “Then I’m totally exhausted and I’m stuck. So I’m back at it, but I’m trying to get out of it.”
Eilish has won numerous awards, including several Grammys and two Oscars. Her third studio album “Hit Me Hard And Soft” was released last May.
