In the summer, US talk show host Jimmy Fallon was stranded in Munich after attending a concert. The Ewerdwalbesloh family from Upper Bavaria helped him – now he returned the favor.
Exhausted and thirsty, the prominent US talk show host (“Tonight Show”) Jimmy Fallon was stranded with the Ewerdwalbesloh family on Lake Tegernsee in the summer – now he is returning the favor to his helpers: he is inviting the family from Upper Bavaria to his show, which will be recorded on Monday should – a week’s hotel in Times Square included.
“I’m very nervous – Hollywood greats and presidents are sitting there,” says son Leon (23), who recognized the star when he stood lost in front of the family’s car repair shop in the summer. “I kept asking: What exactly is planned? Fallon attended the Adele concert in Munich in August. He later said on the Internet portal Tiktok that he had set off from his hotel on a short tour, got lost, without a map and with an almost empty cell phone.

The American TV star also attended one of Adele’s concerts in Munich during his European vacation. And that’s where it happened: Fallon set off from his hotel for a nighttime walk – and couldn’t find his way back. The 49-year-old stumbled across fields, his cell phone almost empty, was afraid of snakes, tried to stop people passing by on the highway, all in vain. “I was completely lost.” Rescue came in the person of 22-year-old Leon Ewerdwalbesloh and his mother. Fallon had spoken to him at a car repair shop and she offered to drive him back to the hotel. The relieved showmaster was deeply grateful: “If you’re ever in New York, please call me and come to my show.”

In the car repair shop he met Leon Ewerdwalbesloh – who recognized him despite Fallon’s unusual shorts. Leon and mother Corinna brought the star back to his hotel in a dark green Golf convertible – and he returned the favor with an invitation to New York.
At the weekend, the family landed in New York – with gifts for guests: a model car of the Golf Cabrio that Fallon had liked so much, a gingerbread heart with a photo of the trip and the inscription “lost in Bavaria” – and a pair of Lederhosen-style swimming trunks. Finally, it was joked that Fallon was traveling in Bavaria in shorts, Leon reported.
It is still unclear whether the family will be seen in Bavarian costume in the show. “We have them with us, but we don’t know yet whether we’ll do it. I don’t know whether I’ll feel comfortable in New York in leather pants.” The visit program includes a private meeting with Fallon after the show – without any cameras. And ice skating at Rockefeller Center in front of the giant Christmas tree. That was recommended to him, says Leon.
