Queen Silvia celebrated the start of the Christmas season with her grandchildren and decorated the palace Christmas trees with them.
Bright children’s eyes and a festive atmosphere in the Swedish royal palace: a special pre-Christmas tradition was on the agenda for Queen Silvia (80) on Monday. Together with her eight grandchildren, the Queen decorated the Christmas trees in Stockholm Palace, which had previously been delivered by the Forestry University.
Family atmosphere in the palace
The royal offspring, aged between three and twelve, were enthusiastically involved. Above all, Princess Estelle (12), the daughter of Crown Princess Victoria (47), who appeared in a festive red top-miniskirt combination with casual black boots. The second in line to the Swedish throne routinely led her brother, Prince Oscar (8), as well as her younger cousins.
As the pictures show, the atmosphere seems to have been relaxed and familiar. Queen Silvia, dressed in an elegant black blazer with gold buttons and a cream turtleneck, clearly enjoyed watching her grandchildren decorate the four fresh fir trees.
when the Queen lovingly hugged her grandson Prince Alexander (8), one of the three sons of Prince Carl Philip (45) and Princess Sofia (40). Other pictures show little Prince Julian (3) marveling at golden Christmas balls.
The queen is fit again
For the wife of King Carl Gustaf XVI. (78), this pre-Christmas day also marked a positive development in terms of her health. She recently had to cancel a state visit to Singapore due to a serious respiratory infection. Now she appears to be on the mend – just in time for the holidays with her ever-growing family – Princess Sofia is currently expecting her fourth child.
