“Canoe of Manitu” is scheduled to hit theaters in August

For a long time, Michael “Bully” Herbig considered a sequel to the cult film “Shoe of Manitu” to be unimaginable. Work on it is now in full swing – and fans can look forward to the news.

The announced sequel to the hit film “Schuh des Manitu” by Michael “Bully” Herbig is scheduled to open in cinemas on August 14, 2025 – and will not only give fans of western slapstick a reunion with old acquaintances. “Great joy!” Herbig wrote on Facebook on the occasion of the announcement and the first pictures.

In addition to the “Bullyparade” trio Herbig, Christian Tramitz and Rick Kavanian, Sky du Mont is also back, who played villain Santa Maria in the first film, as the production company Constantin Film announced. Jessica Schwarz (“Romy”) and TV actress Jasmin Schwiers (“The Vixen”) are new to the cast.

First details about the plot of the sequel

Constantin Film also gave initial information about the plot. A new up-and-coming gang lures the two main characters of the 2001 hit film, Abahachi (Herbig) and his blood brother Ranger (Tramitz), into a trap in order to get to the legendary “Canoe of Manitu”.

The last-second rescue turns out to be part of a plan and the beginning of a great adventure – with surprising answers “to life’s most important questions.”

According to Constantin Film, a first trailer can already be seen in cinemas – it will also be published online the day before Christmas Eve. According to the production company, filming took place in Spain and the USA as well as in Munich, among other places.
