Yellow family shows heart for burnt victims

With a touching message, the Simpsons family shows their solidarity with the people in the fire-ravaged areas of LA

The world’s most popular animation family has shown a show of support for those affected by the devastating fires in Los Angeles. On Friday evening, the creators of the series “The Simpsons” (since 1989) shared a specially created artwork that shows the yellow family in front of their home in Springfield.

Loving details for Los Angeles

In the picture, the parents, Homer and Marge, are holding a large banner that reads “We Love You LA!” (“We love you LA!”), while Bart presents a list of the areas particularly affected: “Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Topanga, Malibu and everyone impacted.” (German … and everyone who is affected by it”). The drawing also contains loving details such as the poppies in Lisa’s hands – which are the state flower of California. Maggie’s teddy bear is wearing a jersey from the local Los Angeles baseball club Dodgers.

The gesture comes as forest fires continue to rage in the region. According to the Palisades Fire alone, it has already destroyed over 23,700 hectares of land and is only 39 percent under control. The Eaton Fire, which caused extensive damage in Altadena and Pasadena, covers more than 14,100 acres.

Devastating result

The outcome of the natural disaster is devastating: 27 people lost their lives and thousands lost their homes and businesses. In total, over 12,300 buildings were destroyed by the two main fires. The unpredictable spread of the fire poses enormous challenges for the emergency services – even firefighters from Canada and Mexico are now supporting the extinguishing work.

The Simpsons join a long list of celebrities who have expressed their support for those affected.
