Singer Mickie Krause has bladder cancer. He found out during the filming of the TV show “Showtime of my life”.
Party singer Mickie Krause (51, “Honey, give me a photo!”) has bladder cancer. He received the shock diagnosis during the shooting of the TV show “Showtime of my life”, with which the broadcaster wants to draw attention to cancer prevention.
“The worst thing in life is helplessness and of course I felt totally helpless at the moment because I didn’t expect this diagnosis at all” about the moment when he found out about the “malignant tumor in his body”. That was two days before the big show was taped, for which he and the other contestants had worked out a strip choreography. “I just thought: Giving up can’t be an option now. You just have to show a little strength,” he recalls.
“In retrospect, I’m very grateful that I took this precaution, because if I hadn’t done it, who knows what would have happened to me in six months,” says the Mallorca star. And he adds: “I face this story, this sad fact that I have cancer, but I’m a strong person, a strong man and I’ll get out of it,” he encourages.
Mickie Krause is said to have been “operated” and “survived everything well”, as the broadcaster reports.
Jochen Schropp also had to undergo another examination
“Showtime of my Life – Stars Against Cancer” will be broadcast on February 15 and 22 from 8:15 p.m. on VOX (also on RTL+). With the show, the 16 participating stars want to draw attention to the sometimes life-saving check-ups for breast, prostate and testicular cancer. The celebrities strip on the show and want to convey the message: “If we undress in front of an audience of millions, you can do it in front of a doctor.”
In the first season last year, moderator Jochen Schropp (43) came into focus after something was discovered during his prostate examination. “The doctor told me off camera that I have calcium deposits in my testicles. It’s nothing unusual, but it can be a precursor to testicular cancer,” he recalled in an interview with spot on news. The doctor advised him to have another examination. “The blood test did not reveal any signs of cancer cells or a tumour. Nevertheless, it was a wake-up call for me and a reminder: go to preventive care!” says Schropp.
