The newspaper did not call his anniversary of his death, just as little as a cause of death. It is only said that a “long suffering” is now over for the entertainer.
The Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen as the “showmaster of Austria”. “His spontaneity, naturalness and his sense of humor have millions of Austrians: inspired on the inside of TV and radio.”
Peter Rapp: He has always been there
“Few people manage to have always been there,” Van der Bellen also wrote. Peter Rapp’s TV career began in 1963, when the former Viennese singer boy appeared as a singer in “People of Today” and as a cabaret artist in “teenage party”.
From 1968 to 1978 the rock fan moderated the music show “Spotlight” on ORF, which he subsequently described as his most important show. International rock stars also performed in the youth music show. With “Wurlitzer”, another music program followed in 1987, in which Rapp received audience wishes. Also from 1987 he won with “Hoppala: bankruptcy, bad luck and breakdown” dream rates. He also moderated the “letterless show”, was the face of the “light in the dark” gala and juror at the ORF talent show “The Great Chance”.
We miss these show classics
Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff was the most eloquent and world-famous moderator that German television has ever had. For 23 years, from 1964 to 1987, the charm moderated the Saturday evening show “One will win”. A program that brought European thoughts to the German living room: the candidates came from eight different countries. New editions with Jörg Kachelmann (1998) and Jörg Pilawa (2014) only underlined how much we miss Kulenkampff.
