Upper Austrian Salzburg professional attacked by Rapid fans

RB Salzburg’s 1-0 away win against Rapid Vienna has an aftermath: As the Krone reports, goal scorer Luka Sucic was physically attacked by four Rapid fans at a service station on the way home from Vienna. The 19-year-old is said not to have been injured in the attack.

The Upper Austrian, who started his footballing career at the Unterhaus clubs Alkoven and Edelweiss Linz and switched to the Salzburg youth team in 2016, was unusually not on the team bus towards Mozartstadt because a doping test took too long and the team bus without him died three hour drive home.

That’s why Sucic followed with a supervisor in a private car. A little outside of Vienna he is said to have fallen victim to the attack during a stopover at a service station. Even the police had to intervene, Austria’s champions RB Salzburg filed a complaint.
