In April 2021, he enabled his father to return home from Serbia via the Kittsee border crossing, without him having to go into home quarantine in accordance with the Corona regulations in force at the time. The 22-year-old simply paid an acquaintance, who worked as a soldier on an assistance mission at the border, 150 euros.
In return, the acquaintance made sure that the father, who had neither registered for the trip abroad nor had a valid negative PCR test, was simply waved through at the border crossing without mentioning compliance with the measures to protect against the further spread of SARS-CoV-2 was controlled. He turned to the acquaintance “because I heard from friends that he was doing it as a favour,” the accused said.
At the time, the father urgently had to go to Serbia to sell a house. The quarantine that followed was out of the question because he was the only one in the family who worked. If the employer had known that the father had to stay at home because of the trip, “he would have been fired without notice,” the 22-year-old suspected. The father had taken sick leave for the trip to Serbia without really being unwell.
The corrupt conscript has since disarmed. He will be tried separately, but there is no date for this yet.
