Samuel Kopf won a hundredth thriller against his godfather

The Ennstalcup powered by Salomon started this year on the Hochkar in difficult external conditions. For the first time, the top skiers from the region made guest appearances on the Draxlerloch piste, which was affected by the rain, but they delivered two thrilling slalom runs there.

A total of 64 skiers from ten clubs were at the start. With a failure rate of more than ten percent, 54 of them ultimately made it into the evaluation. The largest contingent of starters on the Hochkar was provided by Naturfreunde Großraming with 20 athletes. And the organizers of the opening race were also rewarded with two stage victories.

The history of the race was written by Samuel Kopf. The Großraminger celebrated a brilliant comeback after his injury break with the premiere win. He won the slalom by the blink of an eye by two hundredths of a second ahead of his godfather, cousin and the four-time Ennstal Cup winner Daniel Lumplecker from the Trattenbach winter sports club. Although he was still in the lead after the first round, he just couldn’t parry Kopf’s attack in the second run. With Jan Gassner from Skiklub Steyr in third place, another youngster heated up the defending champion.

The other places on the podium went to Denise Dietl from the Trattenbach winter sports club and Liana Garstenauer from the Pechgraben sports club.

This time, ASV Losenstein, SC Weyer, Union Maria Neustift and the nature lovers from Neuzeug, Enns and Reichraming did not get a place on the podium.
