“We were sacredly wedded at a small private ceremony in Los Angeles and we’re excited like eloping teenagers,” Aldrin wrote. His three previous marriages had ended in divorce. Faur is reportedly 30 years younger than Aldrin. According to her LinkedIn profile, she holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She used to work for the chemical company Union Carbide and the catalyst and specialty chemicals manufacturer Johnson Matthey. She is now Vice President of Aldrin’s company, Buzz Aldrin Ventures.
Aldrin is the last survivor of NASA’s legendary Apollo 11 moon mission. During the mission, first Neil Armstrong and then Aldrin, on July 20, 1969, became the first two humans to walk on the moon.
