The twin towns of Braunau and Simbach are busy with a rich calendar of events. On April 1st the well-established Braunau bicycle bazaar takes place, “Wein im Schloss” as the largest wine event in the Innviertel on April 8th in Ranshofen Castle. On May 6th and October 7th, “Fun in the Glass” crosses borders. The Simbacher Pfingstdult lures from May 25th to 31st, a sports festival of the clubs including a day of sports on May 21st.
With an international twin meeting from June 3rd to 11th, the tourism association of the discovery district is bringing something unusual to the region. In the summer there are again two city festivals and the Braunau theater summer of the bauhoftheater from July 7th to August 6th. Other fixed points: the Linz Street Festival on August 5th, the Trachtler Bergfest on the Schellenberg on August 13th, the cycling days on August 26th and 27th or the big fishermen’s festival in Simbach from September 8th to 10th. There will be culinary delights with street food festivals on June 10th and 11th in Simbach and on September 2nd and 3rd in Braunau, and a special kind of beer tasting with “brewer meets guest in prison” on August 18th and 19th.
