The total investment is 1.7 million dollars, where house room costs 2,067 resettable units (UR) and, therefore, the total sum is 45,474 UR. This cost will be paid by both institutions with 50% simultaneously with the granting of each agreement and with the other 50% when the work that will begin this year is finished.

Minister Fernando Mattos was also present during the signing of the agreement, representing the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) who stressed the importance of the settler producers having a building infrastructure to reinforce the dairy production sector. “It is a significant change in working conditions in artisanal dairy and cheese making,” Mattos remarked.

John Paul Delgado, president of Mevir, recalled that since 2020 there have been interventions, a total of 58, referring to new homes and productive infrastructures. “Housing is important, but it is also important to help the rural producer to take root in the rural environment,” Delgado explained.
