It was just in time for International Women’s Day that two women found a place in the command of the Rohrbach fire brigade 150 years after it was founded. Of course, the women have been established in the team for decades. After David Höllwirth and Roland Manzenreiter had made their positions as secretary and treasurer available, there was a major change in command for the first time in nine years. After the secret ballot, two committed women took over a command function: Jana Susanna Kapeller as secretary and Johanna Leitner-Nigl. Martin Wakolbinger remains commander, his deputies Markus Hurnaus and Christoph Nigl. Before the election, the fire brigade members looked back on the year 2022. The comrades of the fire brigade worked a total of 14,317 hours in the previous year. Converted to an eight-hour working day, this would be almost 1790 working days.

Blackout and staff operation

The focus of training in 2022 was the blackout topic and staff operations. An exercise on the latter was carried out last year, developed by section fire brigade commander Andreas Pachner.

Even in youth work, after the last severely restricted years, there was “full operation” again.
