The 2.3 million euro investment pays for itself immediately: CO2 emissions are reduced by more than 35 tons just by saving 95 percent of the truck journeys. The housing of the conveyor belt also ensures a noticeable reduction in dust emissions, and the noise level for employees and residents is also significantly reduced.

“Whereas around 6,000 truck journeys were previously necessary every year to transport the rock fractions to the dry mortar plant for processing, a 235 m long conveyor belt system is now used. We have thus implemented a sustainable solution for rock transport for the Bad Ischl site,” explains Manfred Tisch, Technical Director of Baumit GmbH.
