Woman taken away from the house by scammers and 860,000 euros

A woman from the district of Würzburg in Bavaria lost her house and more than three quarters of a million euros as a result of online fraud. A supposed Internet company advertised attractive returns by trading cryptocurrencies, as the German police announced on Thursday. In this belief, the 61-year-old has transferred a total of around 860,000 euros to the scammers since July 2022. Among other things, she borrowed money from friends. She ended up selling her house to pay off her debts. It wasn’t until March that the woman recognized the fraud and filed a complaint.
