On the occasion of the Innviertler event series, the Future Dome of the Fill company in Gurten was transformed into an arena of enjoyment and showed how responsibility and high culinary art can be combined. Because the net proceeds from the charity event benefit the women’s shelter and the social markets and are the driving force for six award-winning chefs. “The good cause is our main motivation. We’re always happy to take part,” says Lukas Kienbauer from Schärding. In addition to the charitable idea, the four-toque chef also appreciates working with the other five chefs, Wolfgang Wohlschlager (Kammer5), Christoph Forthuber (Restaurant Forthuber), Peter Reithmayr (Aqarium), Daniel Hutsteiner (Kirchenwirt Diersbach) and Florian Schlöglmann ( Wirt z’Kraxenberg). “It’s nice to see that we all come from the same region, but each scores with their own kitchen style. In addition, you help each other and learn something new,” Kienbauer explains the advantages of the fruitful teamwork.

The Schärdinger top chef surprised the guests with a vegetarian dish and showed the versatility of the carrot. Carrot cream, plus the concentrated aroma of the refined beet, complemented by a reduction in carrot juice, hay whipped cream and puffed buckwheat. A course that played with all taste components and consistencies. The other courses are also impressive. Trout tartare with spring herb sauce by Wolfgang Wohlschlager or the Asian-inspired seafood curry with prawns by Peter Reithmayr.

Christoph Forthuber enchanted the guests with crispy pork belly. Daniel Hutsteiner refined a young cattle in three ways, and Florian Schlöglmann ended the fine menu with a sinful dessert. The beer and wine accompaniment is also perfectly coordinated. The benefit gala received the greatest applause: 10,000 euros could be raised for the women’s shelter.
