The project will seek to transform La Capuera through road improvements and the construction of new public spaces.
The Maldonado City Hall (IDM) prepares to execute a work of more than 7 million dollars in conjunction with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Office of Planning and Budget (OPP). The project will seek to transform the town of the hoodOf the municipality of piriapolisthrough improvements in the road infrastructure, as well as the construction of new public spaces.
The plans include the prioritization and improvement of the entrance to the town, the widening of streets and the construction of their respective sidewalks, as well as cycle paths that will connect with the main access, which will now be refurbished up to the polyclinic of the place.
According to the IDM, this work is “integrative” and with the different urban interventions it aspires to “enhance public spaces.” In turn, there will be hydraulic tasks to solve flood problems that have historically affected the area.
The project is part of the Program for the Development and Strengthening of Fiscal Management and Subnational Services (PDGS), what destiny 90 million dollars lent by the IDB to support works and projects of the 18 municipalities in the interior of the country.
The IDM opened tenders and public calls for works in La Capuera
Currently, the IDM is carrying out two public calls in order to carry out the project called “Urban Infrastructure Conditioning in La Capuera”, corresponding to two tenders. The first one is “Urban Infrastructure Conditioning in La Capuera, Asphalt Folder and Sidewalks”, and the second one is called “Bituminous Treatment and North Channel”.
